There was a lovely article in the Yorkshire Evening Post in May about the fabulous grant we received from Jimbo’s fund… please have a look at the link if you would like to read it. The picture on the article was taken a little while ago and both Ethan and Orla are a lot bigger now and still come to the groups which is great!
Since we received the grant we have been putting together job descriptions for sessional staff and a coordinator posts (all on a self-employed basis) which we will be sending out soon. We have also been able to partially fund the trip to Disability Rocks on 7th June and we have arranged transport and interpreting services for two families to access support via our groups or on a one to one basis… here’s looking to future and what else we can do over the next year…
On Friday 2nd of June we were invited to attend Leeds University Raise and Give Presentation to talk about the work that Sunshine and Smiles does and to collect an award of £475.00 to go towards our Speech and Language sessions.
It was a wonderful afternoon listening to so many people talking about the amazing work that happens in Leeds and we were very pleased that Josh was there to collect our cheque.
Thank you to Leeds University Raise and Give… your award to us will pay for 11 Speech and Language sessions over the next year.
